Domain Change FAQ

As our technology has evolved into a multi-purpose communication platform, it has allowed our customers to create unique "online experiences". To accommodate for this versatility, we have changed our platform URL from vts.inxpo.com to onlinexperiences.com. Removing INXPO from the URL will place the focus on the customers brand where it belongs, making the experience truly their own. Below is an FAQ, please read this and forward it along to your teams including your IT team to make sure your organization is prepared for this change.

Which domain is changing?

As part of the September release, the inxpo.com domain that is used across the INXPO platform will change to onlinexperiences.com. All of the host domains (which you may have whitelisted in the past) can be referenced in the Troubleshooting Guide.

NOTE: On September 17, 2017 the *.inxpo.com references will be removed after the domain changes are rolled out to our customers.

When will this change will happen?

The code will be in the September 9, 2017 (13.5) release, however, the change will transpire for all customers on September 17, 2017 during a maintenance period between 6:00am CT and 10:00am CT.

How will this affect my user/attendee access?

All standard INXPO product links will be redirected for a period of one year for example the link to INXPO U is currently https://vts.inxpo.com/Launch/Event.htm?ShowKey=22717, post release, this link will display as follows in the platform: https://onlinexperiences.com/Launch/Event.htm?ShowKey=22717. However, the predistributed links (i.e. to speakers, attendees) will continue to work for one year (until September 2018) and will redirect to the new onlinexperiences.com domain. Here is an example of some of the redirects, all of the items can be seen in the Troubleshooting Guide.

For XPOCAST flash, where users previously allowed the inxpo.com domain in their Flash settings, users should now add onlinexperiences.com to the allowed domains in their Flash settings.

Will my customizations / custom work continue to function properly?

INXPO Creative, Services and Solutions teams are putting safeguards in place to find all of the custom elements in events created by INXPO. INXPO teams plan to test these areas during the release day testing to ensure they haven’t been impacted. Due to the vast number of customizations created over the years, we may unintentionally overlook some of these areas, therefore if you are aware of any customizations within your events, please test them after the release or work with INXPO to ensure those areas are tested.

Additionally, self-producers should test all customizations that they have implemented. This does include any hardcoding of *inxpo.com; hardcoded *inxpo.com will have to be swapped out to the new domain as noted in the grid further above.
